Noir, horror, and scifi were strong, with the ongoing Reckless books, That Texas Blood stories, new conspiracy thriller Department of Truth, and scifi twist of Nice House on the Lake, and action horror of Something is Killing the Children. New bargain-priced digest editions of classics also put The Amazing Spider-Man, Miles Morales, and Spider-Gwen on the charts. The return of favorite creators are always popular, with Alex Ross on Fantastic Four: Full Circle, and Kevin Eastman in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, and the return of Saga from a multiyear break. Media had an impact, with Moon Knight, Spy X Family, Demon Slayer, Batman: The Long Halloween, Heartstopper, and Chainsaw Man all selling well after their screen adaptations became popular.Ĭontroversy elevated a few, as censorship attempts reminded people to pick up Maus and Gender Queer. We finally published a new volume of our own local comics anthology, Big Planet Comics: Neon! This included a new short Zodiac Starforce story by our hometown heroes Kevin Panetta and Paulina Ganucheau, so of course that was one of our bestsellers! It’s been awhile since we’ve done this, so let’s look back at our best selling graphic novels and issues for the year!
